Welcome to Dachshund IVDD Support Australia!  Our mission is to support the Dachshund community by increasing awareness, providing educational resources, and offering support for Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD).
Whether you’re a current Dachshund owner, thinking about adding one to your family, or managing IVDD challenges, we are here to provide the help you need.

DID YOU KNOW, IVDD IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON HEALTH ISSUES SEEN IN DACHSHUNDS?

Statistics indicate that IVDD affects one in four Dachshunds at some stage in their lives.  While there is no cure in sight, thankfully advances in veterinary medicine, canine rehabilitation, lifestyle, and diet factors have provided ways to manage this disease.

IVDD also affects other chondrodystrophic dog breeds and we trust that the information provided on this website will also help you on your journey.

By clicking on the below links, you can learn what causes IVDD, how to recognise the signs and symptoms, what to do in an emergency, treatment options and loads more.

SPONSORS + FRIENDS OF DISA

In order to continue spreading the word about IVDD and to ensure we have an online platform, DISA – a volunteer run charity – requires support and donations. Here are some great friends of ours (small Aussie run businesses) who are current sponsors. Click on their logos to find out more about each business and how they help us (and you) and of course to support them in return.
