IVDD ASSIST

an initiative by Dachshund IVDD Support Australia

About the program

The IVDD Assist Program is an initiative of Dachshund IVDD Support Australia (Teckel Tails Ltd) (DISA) ABN 90 194 829 059.

Every dollar donated/contributed through this program brings DISA closer to a world where no Australian dachshund owner faces their IVDD journey alone.

Who do we assist?

Owners of dachshunds who have been formally diagnosed as being affected by IVDD who reside in Australia.

What do we donate?

  • DISA will provide IVDD aids (crates, pens, slings, strollers) and rehabilitation consultations (if an owner resides in an area where an approved therapist is available).
  • Each case is assessed individually.

How often are allocations made available?

Funding allocations are reviewed annually by the Charity Board of Directors and allocated from January – December until allocated funds are depleted.  Allocations will be announced on this page.

Eligibility requirements

  • Residency: Available to Australian dachshund owners facing financial hardship whose dogs are affected by IVDD, whether being treated conservatively or surgically.
  • DISA’s Discretion: DISA decides which owners qualify and which aids are gifted.
  • Group Membership: Owners must be active members of the DISA Support Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/dachshundivddsupportaustralia/
  • Final Decisions: All decisions made by DISA are final.
